It’s been awhile since I updated this site. But Church Lady Cakes is going to be up and running in the coming months. Cake season is kind of transitioning to pie season. The seasonal berries are going to be showing up in the markets pretty soon. Just this weekend, my sister missed the last call for lard at the farmers market at 14th & U. Apparently some hard core pie makers descended on the vendor and cleaned out the inventory for their own pie crusts.
Hmmph!
Plans are underway to return to New Orleans and complete Johari Rashad’s chapter of her story for the “Church Lady Cake Diaries.” Here’s another clip. It needs cleaning up, but the electrics on my hard drive burned out. Fortunately, the drive itself was not damaged, so footage will not have to be reloaded (whew!).
